SLOVENIAN TRANSLATIONS

Slovenian is spoken by approximately 2.5 million speakers worldwide, the majority of whom live in Slovenia. It is the first language of about 2.1 million Slovenian people and is one of the 24 official and working languages of the European Union.

Slovenian is an Indo-European language belonging to the Western subgroup of the South Slavic branch of the Slavic languages. Furthermore, Slovenian shares certain linguistic characteristics with all South Slavic languages, including those of the Eastern subgroup, such as Bulgarian. Although Slovenian is almost completely intelligible with the Kajkavian dialects of Serbo-Croatian, mutual intelligibility with other varieties of Serbo-Croatian is hindered by differences in vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. The Slovene language also has many commonalities with the West Slavic languages.
